Digital Engineering

The master degree programmme refers to students with a Bachelor's degree or Diploma degree in engineering or computer science. The study imparts comprehensive knowledge for the development, construction, and operation of complex and technical products as well as systems that can for instance be found in industrial engineering or in the automotive industry. It also qualifies the alumni for sophisticated employment and line functions in planning and realization of projects for the application of modern IT-solutions, e.g., virtual and augmented reality, in the application area of engineering terms as well as in areas of industrial, industry-oriented, and academic research.

The degree programme procures important competences for the realisation of academic research and industrial advance development. This is accomplished by a combination of methods of computer science and engineering terms and domains. Extra project work which goes beyond comparable offers will prepare the students for special challenges of interdisciplinary research. A significant main focus is on functional contents for latest technologies for the development and operation of engineering solutions as well as on the procurement of knowledge of methods which is a necessary condition for their successful application. Selected contents of the study are offered in coordination with partners from industry-oriented research. The key competences focus on interdisciplinary communication and project work which enable the students to take executive and interface positions because of their interdisciplinary knowledge.
